Syna Therapeutics has been named one of the top ten emerging companies in Catalonia with the brightest future by newspaper L’Econòmic and a group of innovation experts. The publication also highlights that the region’s capital, Barcelona, has created an advanced ecosystem fordeveloping biomedicine, technology and industrial start-ups.
The panel of experts that chose the companies included Miquel Martí, CEO of Barcelona Tech City; Isabel Amat, Global head of Innovation and Pipeline Management at Reig Jofre and board member of CataloniaBio & HealthTech; Jordi Aguasca, director of Startup Catalonia (Government of Catalonia); Roger Blanch, BStartup advisor at Banco Sabadell; Oriol Pascual, director of IQS Tech Factory; Maribel Berges, entrepreneur, among others. All of them valued the originality and rigour of the project, as well as its potential for growth and the team’s experience with other projects.
“Syna was started in 2018 to address the growing global demand for high-quality biosimilar drugs and innovative molecules,” explained company CEO Andreu Soldevila. “Our strength is that we offer everything from development through industrialisation of biologic and biosimilar drugs,” he highlighted.
These new-generation medications give more patients access to innovative, highly specific and effective medical treatments.
